Magic Carpet

Many thanks to Rob Wynne of Magic Carpet for joining me on the show today. Hear the show again here.

Magic Carpet is a local charity providing high quality creative activities for people with learning difficulties and mental health issues, offering, in Rob's words, opportunities to "move people forward in their lives". They are based in Exeter and work in East Devon too.

A long time passionate supporter of Magic Carpet is musician Dave Wood. We played two tracks from his superb album Into The Light. They were Long Distance Love and Song For TJ.

Magic Carpet Projects include
  • D'Arts, being formed in Exeter to find and provide creative spaces for vulnerable people
  • Say No To Bullying, promoting friendship and co-operation amongst people
  • The sale of Greetings Cards and Calendars
  • A community Choir, singing together in Exeter in December
Magic Carpet also works with Soundwaves, dedicated to helping people with and without learning difficulties come together and make music.

There is so much more that Magic Carpet does.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or just want to find out more,
email rfw@magiccarpet-arts.co.uk and take a look at the Magic Carpet website.
