Well done Beth, Char, Shannon, Rob and Emma

Our representatives from the Voices 2 Be Heard team did a fantastic job today presenting their album and talking about their experiences making it. They were forthcoming in expressing their thoughts, views and feelings about their lives too.

Beth, Char, Shannon and Rob are to be congratulated on their completion of a project leading to the making of the CD Listen to our Words. Youth worker Emma joined them on the show to speak about the project. All of them also introduced some of their favourite songs.

Listen again to today's show Listen to our Words: Voices 2 be heard here.

Listen to our Words: Voices 2 Be Heard

"We made an epic CD! Put in a lot of time and commitment! Planned the whole thing. Writing and singing our own wonderful songs and music. The music has come from us, about how we feel and how we expect others to treat us - with RESPECT!"

A group of young people in care tell us how they came to make this album, relate their experiences and express their feelings about their lives. And, of course, you'll hear the music they made and recorded.

Rights of passage, women's music, theatre and more...

...on The Multifarious Mix today.  Listen to the show again here

Thanks to all who contributed today including Keri Ross who co-hosted later in the show.

Hannah Tyrell-Pender spoke on the phone about Box Of Tricks Theatre Company and their production Head/Heart, two plays by Elinor Cook and Daniel Kanaber, which will be performed at Exeter's BikeShed Theatre 14-16 July, 19:30. Directed by Adam Quayle and our guest Hannah, Head/Heart is an ambitious project: an explosive double bill that promises "short sharp shocks of total theatre". Find out more about it here.

Jeremy Thres spoke passionately about living closer to the land and the importance of rights of passage in society. He is involved with Land Time: supportive time out in the wilds, an event primarily for young adults 17-25 taking place on Dartmoor in July and August.
"On our journey we will be supported and nourished from the time-honoured wells of myth, story and rights of passage..."
