Exeter Fringe and Refugee Week in Devon

Events for both Exeter Fringe Festival and Refugee Week in Devon were featured on The Multifarious Mix today.

Many thanks to our guests who spoke enthusiastically about their events:                           Listen to the show again here

Alison Whittall
Alison is running a singing workshop Lift Your Heart & Sing! at The Mint Methodist Church Hall, Fore Street, Exeter from 10:00 to 13:00 this Saturday 25 June. After the workshop at 14:00, Alison and the participants will be invited to join the North Devon community choir Ploughcapella for a "flashmob performance" in Exeter's Princesshay.

Joe Hancock of Burn The Curtain Theatre Company
Joe told us about The Adventures Of Uncle Lubin, "an outdoor interactive promenade" based on a Heath Robinson classic children's story. Performances take place in Rougemont Gardens, Exeter from 23 to 26 June.
There's also a related Exhibition in Exeter Central Library.

Eliza Power of Sibling Productions
talked about her play Feathers. It's on at Exeter's BikeShed Theatre from 25 to 27 June in the afternoon. It's a modern reworking of an Ovid myth and features Sex, Lies and Black Comedy. It has received rave reviews in London and Edinburgh. More information here.

Tai Lawrence spoke on a very clear mobile line from The Glastonbury Festival where his girlfriend is performing. He told us all about The Improsarios who are bringing their special brand of improvised comedy from London to Exeter. The Improsarios are a company of actors who improvise anything from scenes to games to plays, all created on the night and inspired by your suggestions. They are at Exeter Phoenix (Black Box) on 27 and 28 June, 1 and 2 July at 21:00. More info here.
